Here are brief results from this week’s (May 1, 2014) TNA Impact Wrestling, as well as your reactions in the live chat.

Don't Cross The Boss

Brief Results

  • MVP institutes a system to determine the #1 Contender: three men that won their matches at Sacrifice (Mr. Anderson, Gunner, and Bobby Roode) will draw cards. The highest card gets a bye, and the lower cards face off; the winner of that match faces the man with the bye, and the winner of THAT match faces EY for the title. Gunner and Anderson both draw fours, and Roode gets the ace and the bye.
  • Magnus comes out to complain about not being included in the title picture despite being the former world champ. He demands that MVP come out and explain himself, but he is met by Abyss instead. Abyss chokeslams Magnus and fetches Janice, but Magnus escapes before the weapon can be brought into play.
  • Bully makes his grievances from Sacrifice public against Dixie Carter, and he declares that if he sees her, she will be going through a table. In the next segment, we see Dixie pulling up backstage, still ecstatic about how Sacrifice went down as far as her business went.
  • Gunner d. Mr. Anderson via Hangar 18 for pinfall
  • Magnus gets a visit from an old friend, Bram. Bram accuses Magnus of going soft, and that he’s here for Magnus’ own good.
  • Ethan Carter III hypes up his match with Kurt Angle next week, and decides to prepare by sparring with his partner, Rockstar Spud. Carter goes back and forth for a bit until Angle interrupts, stating that we will see an Angle that doesn’t play by the rules, but is instead out for blood.
  • Bobby Roode d. Gunner via Roode Bomb for pinfall to become the #1 Contender
  • Angelina Love is told by the board of directors to “class things up” as champ, or there will be severe repercussions. The Beautiful People decide to play along, but they have a surprise in store.
  • Dixie comes to the ring, accompanied by security. She taunts Bully about putting him through a table, which draws Bully out. Bully convinces the majority of security to step aside, throws out the rest, and catches Dixie in the setup for a power bomb, but an unlikely savior arrives in MVP. Being responsible for everything that goes on in the ring, MVP is tired of the personal vendetta, so until further notice, both Bully and Dixie are barred from the Impact Zone.
  • Willow d. James Storm via Disqualification; Storm goes after Willow with a broken beer bottle, but is fought off with umbrella strikes. Storm is ambushed on the ramp by a vengeful Anderson with a Mic Check.
  • MVP informs the Bro Mans that they will be fighting in a six-man tag against the Wolves and a surprise partner next; Bully Ray accosts MVP and reminds him of how MVP retained his title of Director of Wrestling Operations. MVP points out that everything in the arena is his responsibility. Anything OUTSIDE of the arena, however, isn’t in his jurisdiction. MVP leaves Bully looking very thoughtful.
  • Sanada & the Wolves d. DJ Z & the Bro Mans via double foot stomp-moonsault-double foot stomp team combo
  • The Beautiful People reveal their surprise: they wrote the letter and teased a strip show to taunt the crowd. Angelina Love demands that the crowd show their respect for the greatest Knockouts champ of all time, but her celebration is interrupted by Gail Kim. Gail promises to strip the Beautiful People of everything and drives them out of the ring and to the ramp, where Brittany and Madison Rayne ambush Velvet and Angelina to complete the promised strip. The Beautiful People dash backstage, leaving the Knockouts title in Gail’s hands.
  • Eric Young d. Bobby Roode via flying elbow for pinfall to retain the World Heavyweight Championship
